The Terminal
Gatwick has had an airport at the site since the 1930s, but the airport as we find it today was officially opened by Her Majesty The Queen in June 1958.
Over the last 60 years Gatwick has developed from only 186,000 passengers a year to close to 46 million in 2017, flying to 230 destinations in 70 countries – with 63 of the routes being long haul.
The terminal is divided into two areas – North and South – and is served by a rail link from central London that runs every three minutes.
