Transport services are being upgraded on an ongoing basis at Corvera Airport Murcia.
Flights and destinations served by the airport have been boosted (almost to 2019 levels) following an easing of Spanish and global COVID-19 restrictions, and transport options are also subsequently being expanded according to demand, as well as the frequency of services – especially during the high summer season.
Free bus services are available between the airport and both Murcia and Cartagena from 5 June to 15 September.
As for trains, on 19 December 2022, the AVE high-speed rail line connecting Murcia and Madrid was officially inaugurated by prime minister Pedro Sánchez and King Felipe VI. The travelling time is just two hours and 45 minutes, and there are eight daily journeys.
On 10 December 2023, national train operator Renfe launched its first high-speed, low-cost Avlo service between Madrid’s Chamartín-Clara Campoamor station and Murcia city: one daily morning route each way.
In all, Renfe offers 10 daily rail connections with Spain’s capital city: five each way – one Avlo plus four higher-cost AVE services.
Corvera Airport Murcia does not currently provide passengers with a direct train service to and from the terminal.
