Aena Sociedad Concesionaria del AIRM, the concessionaire company of Corvera Airport, have put out to tender the first commercial contracts for shops, restaurants and more ahead of the airport’s opening date next year. This includes 12 commercial establishments and restaurants. Some of the other great upcoming facilities include 18 vending machines for food and drink, as well as two ATMS.
Other contracts approved by Aena include essential contracts for equipment, maintenance and more. This includes the purchase of vehicles, maintenance work and drinking water amounting to a total of €641,209.
Five vehicles have been purchased as part of the recent agreements. One is for the advanced command post, two for track maintenance and beaconing, one for internal displacement and another for use by the Autonomous Community, in compliance with the specifications of the tender that Aena was awarded at the end of 2017. Some of the planned maintenance work includes repainting signage on the platform, as well as basic spare parts and supplies needed for the airport before it opens.
Technical assistance has also been approved for modifying control systems for emergency groups and facilities. Corvera Airport is set to open in 2018, with the first flights expected on the 15th of January, according to SR Garcia Legaz, president of Aena.
The board of directors at Aena have also agreed to award the land lease for the filming of some scenes from the latest instalment of the Terminator movies, Terminator 6 which is set to be released in November 2019.
