The Board of Directors of Aena Concessionaire Corporation of the AIRM (International Airport of the Region of Murcia) recently met to discuss new service contracts for Corvera Airport. As part of the meeting, Diego Peñarrubia was elected as president of the council. Peñarrubia was also recently appointed as President of Corvera airport by the Ministry of Development.
Diego Peñarrubia will occupy this position when Corvera Airport opens in January next year. The post is an honourary position, meaning that no salary is awarded. However, Peñarrubia is entitled to receive expenses payments for attending board meetings, as well as carrying out other duties as part of the role.
New service contracts were also awarded as part of the recent meeting of the Board of Directors. This included a contract for the supply of five new vehicles, which were seen as a necessity for the transfer of duties from San Javier airport after domestic flights move to Corvera Airport. This is includes vehicles for runway and internal maintenance, The contract was awarded to Ford Desya for €119,291.65.
Another contract was awarded for the repainting of signals and signs, as well as for the marking of new aircraft parking bays. This contract was awarded to the merger company INSAE / ROE CO for €347,915.72. Finally, another contract for surfacing of the rental vehicle park is currently on offer for €527,000.
